Service Description
Curious about methods to fix knit fabric? Intrigued by visible mending? Interested in adding duplicate stitch to knit fabric? In this workshop, you’ll learn all these skills. We’ll start with an overview of mending techniques, including darning and patching. Then, we’ll cover a few simple ways to add both strength and beauty to fabric, including duplicate stitch. You can apply what you learn many types of fabrics, not just handknits! Skills needed: Picking up stitches, weaving in ends Skills learned: Darning, knit patches, duplicate stitch Class includes Mending Kit • darning egg • tapestry needle • 3 bobbins Neighborhood Fiber Co. Loft (60% kid mohair/40% silk), approx 25yd each • 6 bobbins Plied North Avenue (100% wool), approx 15yd each • thrifted wool sweater swatch for mending Please bring a pair of scissors and US Size 2 or 3 double-pointed needles. Feel free to bring any items that need mending or repair!!!
